Strength Training
Want to go farther faster? Then endurance training alone is not enough. To maximize their potential, all athletes — even those focused on endurance sports — should also be training to increase their strength and power.
P3 can guide you in the best ways to integrate strength training into your endurance training plan on both a weekly and annual basis. We’ll also teach you proper technique to minimize the chance of injury and expose you to a variety of innovative exercises and equipment to keep you motivated and progressing.
As part of the program, you’ll also learn how to incorporate yoga into your training to improve body alignment, posture, functional flexibility and core strength.
P3’s Strength Training Program is led by Paul Alexander, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). In addition to a degree in Exercise Science, Paul also holds a Master’s Degree in Biomechanics and is himself an avid athlete.
Group Strength Training for Endurance Athletes
A 45 minute circuit style strengthening class aimed at making you functionally stronger. Upon completion of this course, you can expect improvements in biomechanics, efficiency, neuromuscular recruitment, and injury prevention. During the class you will be strengthening all of the major muscles needed for your sport, working on your balance and mobility, and building a strong “core.” Equipment used in this class will include TRX, dumbbells, kettlebells, and stability tools. To maximize results, group sessions are for 3 months and are held at the newly expanded Peak Performance Professionals training facility. Expert Personal Trainer, Tim Mikulance will be leading these 2 group training classes.

Tim Mikulance graduated from Carroll College in 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science. Since graduating, Tim has worked as an ACE Certified personal trainer, working with a variety of clients. As a personal trainer, he has helped his clients to achieve a broad range of objectives – from weight loss and rehabilitation, to preparation for the Army Rangers and Collegiate competition. While Tim has helped individuals reach their personal goals, he has also enjoyed working with endurance athletes over the past few years and has worked with 15 – half and full Ironman athletes. With both Tim and his wife, Lindsey becoming endurance athletes themselves, Tim understands that the majority of endurance athletes neglect strength training. In contrast, Tim understands how and why strength training for endurance athletes is essential in their training. Tim’s specialty is working one-on-one with athletes, but he is now excited to offer this unique group strength training program to the athletes at P3.
