			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you’re looking to improve your swimming this summer, we have the perfect program for you. The program is designed to help you improve technique and increase your speed and endurance. Individual paces will be measured through a time trial, so that the workouts can be more individualized. Lanes will be arranged so swimmers of similar speeds are together. This program has been successful with hundreds of athletes from beginners to elite level.</p>
<p>P3 Coach Bob Hanisch will be on deck directing the workouts. Bob has devoted more than two decades to helping both elite and everyday athletes improve their performances and achieve their individual goals. He is the former Head Coach for USA Triathlon from 1994 – 1996 and is the owner of P3 – Peak Performance Professionals in Brookfield.</p>
<p>You should be able to already swim at least 1000 yards during a workout and at least 300 continuously to benefit most from this program.</p>
<p>Swim workouts will be Wednesdays June 6-August 29 from 5:30-6:30 am.<br />
Cost:$79 for WAC members, $99 for non WAC members.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here&#8217;s your chance to get comfortable swimming in open water while learning everything you need to know about the swim segment of a triathlon. Coaches will demonstrate key open water swimming skills and provide you with time to practice course sighting, turning around buoys, drafting and mass starts. You will also be provide with tips for dealing with pre-race jitters, positioning yourself at the start of the race, swimming in a wetsuit and remaining calm in the water. </p>
<p>Each clinic will be about 60 minutes and include an optional 1/4-mile swim where you will have the opportunity to practice everything you learned. For those in the Beginner Clinic your coach will help you decide if you are ready for the 1/4-mile swim.</p>

<p>For swimmers with prior open water experience but who want to increase open water comfort and speed. Adapt your pool strokes to the waves, chop and current of open water. This clinic will provide realistic but low-pressure simulations of open water racing for current and aspiring triathletes. All participants MUST be able to swim at least 500 meters in a pool to participate.<br />

<h4>Ride &#038; Run the Pewaukee Triathlon Course</h4>
<p>One of Peak Performance Professional coaches will lead you through the bike and run portion of the Pewaukee Triathlon course. This clinic will introduce you to the race course and teach you tips on how to have a successful ride and run. Please be prepared to ride and run (or bike the run). This clinic is for the sole purpose of learning the course, not racing the course.<br />

<h4>Inclement Weather &#038; Water Conditions</h4>
<p>In the event of inclement weather or water conditions we will post the decision by 4:00 pm. Find cancellations on P3 home page lower left column under Open Water Swims. We apologize in advance if we have to cancel any of the swim sessions but your safety is our first priority. There will be no refunds if we are unable to have the swim.</p>
<h4>Swim Coaches</h4>
<p>Anita Krier has been involved with the world of swimming starting as a youngster of 8 years young and began her coaching career in 1978, while a Junior at UW-Madison. Anita’s coaching started at the high school level at LaFollette High School, then upon graduation was head women’s coach at Whitefish Bay High School for 8 years. While coaching at the high school level she worked for the Walter Schroeder Aquatic center as the 8 and under coach, bronze level coach, assistant to the national team and the head coach of the masters swim team. Today she is the head coach of the Wavemaster’s Swim Club which she started 3 years ago.  She has also been the head coach for the past 5 years of an all women’s triathlon team, at the beginner and intermediate levels.</p>
<p>Heather Haviland came from a non athletic background and at the age of 19 starting her Triathlon career, since is a six-time All American Triathlete, 8 time Ironman Finisher, former USAT Triathlete of the Year and Professional Triathlete, Working with world renown coaches and mentors, Heather raced professionally for almost 10 years with several top 5 overall Ironman finishes. Heather brings her experience and knowledge in helping athletes of all abilities achieve their athletic and personal goals.</p>
<p>Janeen Finke started competitive swimming at the age of seven years old. She swam for the University of Wisconsin – Lacrosse while getting her physical therapy degree. After graduating, Janeen competed in triathlons for several years until she and her husband started a family. She took a 12 year break from triathlons to raise her children and returned to the sport racing stronger and faster than before. In 2010, Janeen competed in her first Ironman at the Ford Ironman Wisconsin competition in Madison. She placed first in the 45-49 age group with a time of 11:15.14. This qualified her to compete at the 2011 Ford Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii where she posted the fastest swim time in her age group. Janeen works as physical therapist for a local medical center and enjoys giving back to the triathlon community by coaching triathletes on how to improve their swim mechanics and gain more comfort and confidence in open water.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h4>Outdoor Running Program</h4>
<p>Join running specialist and coach, Heather Haviland in a purposeful driven weekly group run workout. The focus will begin with improving your running economy with proper leg turnover and learning running drills and techniques that works for you and your movement patterns. Each session will build on one another and as it is encouraged to join all 3, runners are welcome to join 1 session at a time.  Workouts will be both on and off the track.  While the focus is on running; muscle balance and strengthening muscles needed for running will also be addressed.   </p>
<p>The weekly workouts will be geared for various abilities and racing distances. A 1-3 mile time trial will be done to determine HR and pacing zones. A heart rate monitor is highly recommended. Based on enrollment and abilities, an additional coach may be added. </p>

<p>*The first session of Run STRONG is guaranteed to be at the Pewaukee High School track, however due to the possibility of resurfacing of the track, session 2 and 3 may need to be moved to a different location. </p>
<h5>A note from Heather </h5>
<p>&#8220;I am excited to offer Run STRONG again this year! Over the winter months, I attended several running specialty clinics, learning even more about running and economy. I will share new drills and techniques with each of you to enhance your running even further. Also, another coach may be added based on numbers and abilities to ensure proper coach to runner guidance.</p>
<p>Lastly, due to the numerous of requests for half marathon and marathon training programs. I will be offering 8 or 12 week half marathon training plans and a 20 week marathon training plan. This will allow those interested in maximizing their run training with the specific Run STRONG program in a purposeful driven training program customized for your pacing and HR zones. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Bob has devoted more than two decades to helping both elite and everyday athletes improve their performances and achieve their individual goals.</p>
<p>As Head Coach for USA Triathlon from 1994 – 1996, Bob guided the training of world-caliber athletes in the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During his tenure, Bob’s approach of regularly testing athletes and applying the data to create individualized training programs became a model for other Olympic Team coaches. Bob is also proud to have trained, earlier in their careers, two of the three men who would go on to represent the USA in the inaugural Olympic Triathlon in Sydney.</p>
<p>Over his career, Bob has coached hundreds of triathletes of all levels perform their best in races of every distance, from Sprint through Ironman. As a triathlete himself, Bob is able to provide advice and guidance from a firsthand perspective.</p>
<p>In addition to his work with triathletes, Bob has also worked extensively with individuals faced with the challenge of living with diabetes. He has served as the Senior Medical Exercise Physiologist and Certified Diabetes Educator at the Diabetes Treatment Center at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, as well as the National Head Coach for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Ride to Cure Diabetes.</p>

<p>Over his career, Paul has served as the Assistant Strength Coach at Marquette University, as well as the Conditioning Coach for Cedarburg Soccer Club, Milwaukee Rowing Club and Grafton Rugby Club. He has also taught Strength and Conditioning as an Instructor at Waukesha County Technical College and continues to teach at Mt. Mary College.</p>
<p>Paul is also himself an avid athlete, having competed nationally in Ultimate Frisbee, even reaching the World Championships in 1992. He also enjoys soccer, fitness and other sports.</p>
